Congratulations to Sheela for publishing a large part of her PhD thesis in Science! This work, led by Sheela in close collaboration with , combines whole genome sequencing with incredibly challenging field studies of mating behavior in two Sporophila seedeaters. ItÌýprovides exciting evidence that the Iberá SeedeaterÌýlikely arose through the reshuffling of genetic variation that already existed in other Sporophila and that it is reproductively isolated from a close relative. CongratulationsÌýto Sheela and all of her collaborators for an amazing piece of work!
