CU Panhellenic Association Hosts First Parade Of Sorority Homes Sept. 26

In the spirit of Homecoming and Greek pride, CU Panhellenic Association is sponsoring the first annual Parade of Sorority Homes on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The tour of sorority houses "will allow the public a unique opportunity to view some of Boulder's most beautiful and historic homes," according to Cristin Brown, director of community relations for the Panhellenic Association.

Pre-Game Tailgate Party Set For CU Alumni And Friends On Sept. 19

Alumni and friends of the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ are invited to a pre-game tailgate party for the CU-Utah State football game on Sept. 19 in Boulder. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. Festivities begin at 11 a.m. on the University Club lawn and terrace at 972 Broadway, and include food, complimentary beverages and giveaways. The party will feature CU's Marching Band, Cheer Squad, Buff Gold Dance Team and Chip.

CU Awarded $1.8 Million Science Grant For Undergraduates, K-12 Schools

CU-Boulder Announces Largest Frosh Class Ever, Slight Overall Student Increase

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder has enrolled its largest freshman class ever this fall with 4,281 first-year students entering campus, contributing to a total enrollment of 25,125. The total is up slightly from fall 1997 enrollment of 25,109. The enrollment increase continues a trend of planned, moderate increases on the Boulder campus since 1995, when total enrollment was 24,440, according to Lou McClelland, director of institutional analysis. CU-Boulder's highest ever enrollment was 25,571 in 1991.

Homecoming Weekend Sept. 25-26 Features Parade, Pre-Game Parties

Reunion events, the annual Homecoming Parade and a pregame Sinkburger party under the "Big Top" are highlights of the upcoming Alumni Homecoming Weekend Sept. 25-26 at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder. Seminars, luncheons and "FAC" (Friday Afternoon Club) parties will reunite the classes of 1953, ‘58, ‘63, ‘68, ‘73, ‘78, ‘83, ‘88 and ‘93 all day Friday, Sept. 25.

CU-Boulder Career Services Holds Career Fair On Sept. 23

The Career Services office at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder will hold a Career Fair for all CU-Boulder students on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Coors Events/Conference Center. The Career Fair will give business representatives an opportunity to provide CU students with literature regarding their companies. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ are encouraged to meet with company representatives and learn about the interviewing process.

CU-Boulder Prof Honored With International Medal

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder Professor William Lewis has been awarded the International Society of Limnology's highest honor for his lifetime contributions to scientific studies of lakes, ponds and rivers. A professor in the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences and in the environmental, population and organismic biology department, Lewis was honored with the prestigious Einar Naumann-August Theinemann Medal at the 27th International Limnology Congress held in Dublin, Ireland, in August.

CU-Boulder To Offer Pre-Game Seminar

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder football fans will have an opportunity to attend lectures before watching the Buffs face their opponents at three home games in September, October and November. The third annual "CU Before the Game" lecture series is designed to give community members a taste of what CU offers its students. The presentations, given by professors and instructors affiliated with CU, are approximately one hour long. Fans will have a choice between two seminars before home games on Sept. 19, Oct. 10 and Nov. 14.

Avoid Delays By Knowing Routes To CU-Fresno State Game On Sept. 12

Fans heading to the CU-Boulder campus for SaturdayÂ’s football game against Fresno State can save time and headaches by knowing in advance where they plan to park and by taking one of several recommended routes. CU Parking Services Manager Pam Greager said fans should try to arrive at least an hour before the 1 p.m. gametime to avoid traffic jams and to ensure getting parked and into the stadium on time. Stadium gates open at 11:30 a.m. "We expect a large crowd at this game based on the win over CSU last weekend, so weÂ’re encouraging fans to arrive early," said Greager.
