The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder will present its 35th annual Colorado Business Economic Outlook Forum at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6. The 2000 economic forecast, held in the grand ballroom of DenverÂ’s Brown Palace Hotel, is free and open to the public. The forum is presented by the CU-Boulder College of Business and Administration and addresses the state of Colorado's economy.

Roger Kennedy, former director of the National Park Service, will give a public lecture on "Burr, Hamilton, and Jefferson: Character, Reputation and Personalities" at 5 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Boulder Public Library Auditorium. Kennedy, director emeritus of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, will bring 40 years of insider knowledge of the American political process to the examination of three giants of the early republic: Aaron Burr, Alexander Hamilton, and Thomas Jefferson.

NEWS TIP SHEET Leslie Irvine, professor of sociology at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder and author of a new book, "Codependent Forevermore: The Invention of Self in a Twelve Step Group," will speak at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Rocky Mountain Book Festival. The festival is being held at the Denver Merchandize Mart.

The third and final installment of a three-part series on youth violence, "Containing Crisis: Managing School and Community Emergencies," will be offered free to the public Nov. 30 by the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder.

A public symposium titled "Mars, Science, and Society" will be held at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder on Thursday, Dec. 2, the evening before NASAÂ’s unmanned Mars Polar Lander is slated to land near the southern pole of the Red Planet.

Irene Miller Wolfe, sister of Glenn Miller, the famous big band leader of the 1930s and 1940s, died Nov. 15, 1999 in Longmont, Colo. Mrs. Wolfe had been in poor health for the past year. She was born Emma Irene Miller on Feb. 21, 1916, in North Platte, Neb., to parents Lewis Elmer and Mattie Lou Cavender Miller. She lived with her parents and brothers a short time in North Platte before moving to Fort Morgan, Colo., where she spent her school years, graduating from Fort Morgan High School in 1933.

Nicole Cavarra, a marketing student at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder College of Business and Administration, was selected as one of 10 national recipients—and one of four undergraduates—for the prestigious Travel Industry Association (TIA) Foundation scholarship. The scholarship, awarded to the top students in the country, supports individuals pursuing careers in the tourism field. Cavarra is from Coal Creek, Colo., and has consistently been on the DeanÂ’s List at CU-Boulder, with more than 20 honors accumulated so far in her undergraduate career.

Physicist Albert Einstein is the subject of a performance to be presented at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder Nov. 22 in a one-man theatrical performance presented by Len Barron titled "Walking Lightly: A Portrait of Einstein." The title refers to Einstein's contributions to the development of Quantum theory and his postulations on light quanta in 1905 and to the fact that he walked to work almost every day of his life.
