The Faure Festival -听New American Music: 鈥淗ommage 脿 Faur茅鈥�

The Faur茅 Centennial Festival, directed by Carlo Caballero (乐播传媒, Boulder campus) and Stephen Rumph (University of Washington, Seattle campus) commissioned nine new musical works by American composers to place Gabriel Faur茅鈥檚 legacy in a forward-looking perspective. On Wednesday, 28 February, a composers鈥� round-table discussion will take place (Imig S102, 7:30-9:00 pm), and on Friday, 1 March, the nine new works will receive their premieres.
With our own Carter Pann presiding, the round-table will allow the composers involved to converse informally about their new pieces and the Faur茅 project. David Conte and Emile Serper hail from the Bay Area; Amanda Harberg from New Brunswick, New Jersey; Stacy Garrop from Evanston, Illinois; and Charles Shadle from Boston. Carter Pann, Blake Clawson, Abby Kellems, and Keenan Powell are all Colorado composers. All of them will be present in the audience on 1 March for their premieres.
