Temporary Faculty and Lecturers

From time to time, the Herbst Program for Engineering, Ethics & Society may seek Lecturers to teach sections of ENES 1010: Engineering, Ethics & SocietyÌýand ENES 3100: Seminar in Engineering, Ethics & Society.ÌýThese teaching roles are filled on an as-needed basis each semester.Ìý

The titlesÌýof LecturerÌýand Adjunct areÌýgiven to individuals who teach on a course-by-course basis. These individuals generally have a PhD in a humanities-related field and experience teaching small discussion-based seminars that include close examination of great works and active engagement in an iterative writing process.ÌýThe compensation range for these roles is $1,000-$8,100 perÌýcourse depending on the teaching assignment and instructor qualifications.

As the Herbst Program is quite small, needs fluctuate substantially from semesterÌýtoÌýsemester. LecturersÌýare not permanent employees andÌýareÌýhired on a semester-by-semester basis.
