Plasma CEQM

The Center for Experiments on Quantum Materials (CEQM) studies new materials with emergent quantum properties. The center combines the expertise of its fellows inÌýmaterials synthesis, characterization,Ìýand control ofÌýquantum phases through novel experimental techniques. Center participants include the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ and neighboring institutions along the Colorado Front Range including Colorado State University, Colorado School of Mines, NIST, and NREL.Ìý

Specific research interests include but are not limited to superconductivity, magnetism, correlated andÌýspin-orbit-coupled materials,ÌýWeyl and Dirac semimetals, andÌýnanostructured materials with quantum confinement inÌý3D (quantum dots), 2D (graphene and more recent materials), and 1D (nanowires and polymers),Ìýand related phenomena.

The emphasis is on materials that have the potential to display a rapid transition from fundamental science to applications in electronics, photonics, energy, and biophysics/biomedicine, and other areas.
