The strength of our justice system in Colorado depends on our fellow residents' ability to access that system. Yet, barriers to access abound. Colorado is working to create innovative solutions and support the development of new resources to close the access to justice gap. In this CLE, access to justice leaders from the courts, advocacy organizations, and the Bar will discuss these innovations and the populations they hope to serve. Closing the justice gap will take the collective efforts of the entire legal community. While we may not be able to volunteer our way out of the problem, the impact of pro bono service in our state is significant and part of our professional responsibility as licensed attorneys to provide legal representation to those unable to pay. Our panel will also review the ethical considerations in pro bono service to ensure we all “do well while doing good.”Presenters:, Executive Director of the Colorado Lawyers Committee, Colorado Supreme Court Justice, andDirector of Access to Justice for the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, including Metro Volunteer Lawyers.
